Standex Electronics' speed sensors provide contactless magnetic induction to accurately measure zero, underspeed, and overspeed conditions in steel gears, iron targets, and magnets in a wide range of transportation and industrial applications. Standex Electronics' speed sensors provide contactless magnetic induction to accurately measure zero, underspeed, and overspeed conditions in steel gears, iron targets, and magnets in a wide range of transportation and industrial applications. With Hall Effect solid-state technology, users can expect accurate, bounceless operation over a wide temperature range, resulting in extended service life. Hall effect velocity sensors use a programmed frequency output converted into revolutions per minute to parse linearity and rotational velocity. Steel gears, iron targets, and South Pole sensitive magnetic drive speed switches open and close at factory-programmed frequencies to signal transistor or relay output.

 

In addition to 0 to 32 pitch gears, the speed switch sensor can also detect non-standard steel objects, such as bolt heads, plate holes, and other iron objects. Gear teeth and iron target-driven speed sensors work in any direction, and the air gap can be easily set within the target range using the provided lock nut for threaded housing. The South Pole sensitive magnetic drive speed switch detects the presence of 55 gauss or higher South Pole magnetic field. Working clearance range depends on magnet size and type.

 

Standex Electronics can configure its speed switch sensors for normally closed or normally open relay output, NPN output, and TTL output. They also provide customized programming switch points for applications that users want. Any sensor can be modified, updated, or enhanced with a large selection of enclosures and connections. Sensor enclosures include, but are not limited to, molded, aluminum, stainless steel, threaded, flanged, and custom packaged. Connection types include all-in-one connectors, Deutsch, Amphenol, pigtail, and free end wires of any length. Typical applications include true zero speed, underspeed, and overspeed conditions for gears and shafts in automobiles and heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, and other iron targets such as pulleys in manufacturing and industrial systems
