LTC7060 100 V half-bridge driver from Analog Devices

ADI's LTC7060 drives two N-channel MosFeTs in a half-bridge configuration with a supply voltage of up to 100V. Both the high-voltage and low-voltage side drivers can use different ground references to drive the MOSFETs, providing excellent noise and transient immunity.

Its powerful 0.8Ω pull-down and 1.5Ω pull-up MOSFET drivers allow high-voltage MosFets to be used with large gate capacitors. Other features include undervoltage locking (UVLO), three-state pulse width modulation (PWM) input, adjustable on/off delay, and breakdown protection.

The demonstration circuit DC2886A is a high power, high efficiency, six phase bidirectional converter using the LTC7871 and LTC7060. The terminals labeled VHIGH and VLOW are either inputs or outputs, depending on the direction of the power stream. When SW1 is switched in the BUCK position, VLOW provides 14 V output and VHIGH is an input ranging from 30 V to 70 V.

When the switch is in the BOOST position, the VHIGH provides 48 V output and the VLOW is an input ranging from 10 V to 14 V. The maximum VLOW current in both directions is 180 A. The maximum output power is 2.5kW when operating as a step-down in the input voltage range. When operating as a boost, the maximum output power is 2.4 kW when the input voltage is 14 V. External airflow is required for maximum power operation. The MOSFETs in each phase are driven by an LTC7060 half-bridge driver. Each LTC7060 gate driver is placed next to the MOSFET and receives the PWM signal from the LTC7871.
