Diodes Incorporated introduces the AL1697 LED driver for line-powered Triac dimmable LED lighting applications. The new product utilizes a single-stage high power factor dimming circuit that complies with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) SSL 6 dimming curve standard and is compatible with Leading-edge and Trailing edge Triac dimmers to provide optimal linearity and load regulation.

The AL1697 integrates MOSFETs to eliminate auxiliary windings, effectively reduce peripheral material costs and reduce printed circuit board area, enabling it to drive LED lights up to 15W, making it an attractive and competitive solution.

The AL1697 is a highly accurate and efficient lift LED driver whose topological structure provides precise output current, ensuring superior linearity and load regulation. The device design supports non-isolated elevating and elevating work to meet the different requirements of isolated drive power supply for various lamps. The AL1697 uses a critical on-mode to improve conversion efficiency, reduce switching noise and simplify electromagnetic interference design. It has a low starting current of 130μA and a low operating current of 170μA.

The AL1697 offers two MOSFETs to choose from, including a 4Ω drain-source on-resistance specification for up to 2A/600V and a 1.8Ω super-junction on-resistance specification for 4A/650V. The device comes with standard internal protection features, including output short circuit, overtemperature, undervoltage lock, front blanking, and cycle by cycle overcurrent protection. For increased safety and reliability, it also provides overvoltage/output open circuit and thermal reentry protection.
