Advanced Navigation announces the expansion of its Certus range with a new mini series. The series incorporates the company's breakthrough algorithm technology. This software-enabled hardware delivers navigation data that is superior to outputs based on traditional filtering methods, providing a new level of performance for microins in gnss challenging environments.
The Certus Mini family comes in three variants, including the gnss assisted Certus Mini D and Certus Mini N Inertial Navigation System (INS), while the Certus Mini a serves as the Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS). Weighing no more than 55g, the series is impressive in terms of performance and cost-effectiveness, exceeding expectations for its weight and size.
Chris Shaw, CEO of Advanced Navigation, said: "Manufacturers and system integrators often face trade-offs between performance, size, cost and weight. The Certus Mini series proves that these properties do not need to conflict with each other.
"For customers deploying land-based vehicles, this value-driven breakthrough lowers the bar for accurate and reliable navigation." It also opens up new possibilities for lightweight airborne platforms such as drones, where every gram of weight can impact flight efficiency and power consumption.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the series can be easily integrated into existing and new systems through simple plug and play connectivity, thereby minimizing development time and costs. This adaptability, combined with its performance and size, makes the Mini series a strong complement to the already versatile Certus series."
The Certus Mini D takes the lead in the series with a dual-antenna GNSS heading. This allows it to provide superior accuracy in heading, position and speed. With a maximum weight of 55 grams, it fills a key gap in the dual-antenna INS market with a lightweight size.
By operating on L1/L5 multi-constellation GNSS, the series provides leading capabilities in anti-jamming, positioning accuracy and multipath resistance in urban environments such as near tall buildings, tree canopies and canyons.
