infineon introduces the new TEGRION family of security controllers

     Infineon Technologies has announced the launch of the new TEGRION family of safety controllers, Infineon's broadest 28nm safety controller portfolio to date. The new IntegrityGuard32 security architecture, combined with an advanced Arm®v8-M instruction set, greatly improves the performance of semiconductor devices. TEGRION security controllers are designed to provide customers with easy deployment and rapid development features, support long-term product lifecycle management, and help customers get their products to market quickly. The TEGRION family of security controllers will offer a broad product portfolio to support smart home, smart mobility, smart industry, payments, identity and other applications that are relevant to everyday life.

     TEGRION uses Infineon's unique IntegrityGuard32 hardware security architecture to greatly simplify application development. Customers can develop and design security applications according to specific security conditions, which is essential for the sustainable development of technology reserves compatible with current application scenarios and taking into account various future connected application scenarios. IntegrityGuard32 enables a higher level of security without compromising performance and reliability. It takes a holistic and comprehensive approach to processing, integrating the system's processing cores, on-chip memory, bus, cache, coprocessor and peripheral interfaces into a comprehensive and comprehensive security architecture.

     Efficient error detection/code correction and self-verifying dual CPU cores provide protection for the entire hardware system. The highly efficient crypto accelerators guarantee the fast encryption of data, digital signature and other encryption operations, while protecting the overall hardware system from side channel attacks, fault sensing and physical attacks. IntegrityGuard32 breaks through the limitations of traditional hardware security boundaries, reduces the total cost of ownership throughout the product lifecycle, and effectively reduces the workload of developers to develop protection measures at the software level, thus making overall application development easier.

     The first product in the new family of security controllers, the SLC26P, was released in November 2022 and has already received EMVCo certification for the payments industry. Over the past six months, the product has rapidly reached mass production driven by customer demand. As the first landing solution in the TEGRION family of security controllers, the SECORA™Pay payment solution has demonstrated industry-leading contactless and personalized performance. According to the latest mastercard 2023 Performance Guide (144 byte key), payment cards with SECORA Pay security solutions can complete contactless payments in 155 milliseconds, almost half the expected transaction time (no more than 300 milliseconds).
