Xilinx Display Target Design Platform accelerates development of ultra-high resolution 4K2K displays

     Xilinx announced at the National Broadcast Television Equipment Show (NAB) the Display Target Design Platform (TDP) based on the ACDC (Capture, Provide, Distribute, Consume) 1.0 hardware platform from Tokyo Electronic Devices Co., LTD. (TED), a senior member of the Xilinx Alliance Program. Display TDP significantly accelerates the development of 4K2K displays and high-resolution projection systems by integrating existing 1080i or 1080p video sources near seamlessly into 4K displays. The Display TDP is an addition to Xilinx's growing TDP family, enabling broadcast equipment designers and manufacturers to quickly implement solutions for ACDC across the video production value chain.

     The display TDP is built on the industry-leading Xilinx 28nm Kintex™-7 FPGA family. Broadcast device designers using Kintex-7 FPGA-based display TDP for the design of new devices can not only significantly reduce power consumption and achieve system performance up to 4K2K resolution, but also increase design productivity to quickly achieve a working display or projection system. The programmable function of FPGA itself can achieve flexible adaptability in the entire process from design to production, and can fully meet the requirements of the industry's evolving content delivery and display standards. With display TDP, designers can focus on product functional innovation, enhance product differentiation, and beat competitors to market products.
