WCAP-FTBP and WCAP-FTBE DC film capacitors from Wurth Electronics

WCAP-FTBP and WCAP-FTBE from Wurth Elektronik are general purpose DC film capacitors for filtering, blocking, bypass or energy storage. Both series are characterized by high volumetric efficiency and excellent self-healing properties due to the use of metallized film technology. WCAP-FTBP metallized polypropylene DC vessel (MKP) is characterized by excellent voltage resistance, 5% capacitance tolerance, frequency and humidity stability due to the special characteristics of its metallized polypropylene film.

In addition, the series has excellent insulation resistance, pulse rise time and dissipation coefficient. As such, they are useful for power supplies, monitors, electronic ballasts, and other applications requiring stability. Capacitance ranges from 33 nF to 6.8μF, voltage ranges from 160 V(DC) to 630 V(DC), and spacing sizes from 7.5 mm to 27.5 mm.

 Due to the high relative dielectric constant of Mylar compared to polypropylene film, WCAP-FTBE metallized polyester DC film capacitor (MKT) has a high capacity with a tolerance of 10%. Like WCAP-FTBP, WCAP-FTBE has good self-healing properties due to the nature of its metallized film, and offers more moisture and flammability protection on top of the boxed style. WCAP-FTBE has a pitch of 7.5 mm to 37.5 mm, capacitance range of 10 nF to 6.8μF, and voltage range of 100 V(DC) to 1000 V(DC).
