The new Infineon Power MOSFET family makes power tools more compact and durable

     DIY tools such as cordless drills and chainsaws must be easy to use and durable. Therefore, the electronic components used must be compact and strong. Infineon Technologies AG expands the StrongIRFET™ Power MOSFET product range with solutions that meet both compact and durable requirements. The new logic level StrongIRFET device can be driven directly by a single chip computer, saving space and reducing costs. In addition, StrongIRFET is robust and helps extend the life of electronic products.

     The StrongIRFET series has been proven to maximize the energy efficiency of power tools. This expansion of the logic Level StrongIRFET product enables Infineon to meet the market demand for products that do not require a separate drive. The new device's gate-source drive voltage is reduced to 4.5V, creating the possibility of directly connecting MOSFETs to microcontrollers in many applications.

     The new device retains the typical performance characteristics of the StrongIRFET series: low on-resistance (such as IRL7472L1TRPBF, typical value only 0.52 mΩ and maximum value 0.97 mΩ) to reduce on-loss; High current-carrying capacity increases power capacity and durable silicon wafers, all of which contribute to high system reliability.
