The latest high-performance PCIe Gen4 SSD main control chip solution

     Silicon Motion announced the introduction of SM2268XT -- the latest high-performance PCIe Gen4 SSD master chip solution optimized for higher NAND transfer rates, making it the industry's first master chip to support 3200 MT/s NAND IO Speed. The SM2268XT's superior performance and robust reliability enables customers to accelerate the development of next generation solid-state drives with next generation TLC and QLC 3D NAND flash memory and achieve full data integrity and correction capabilities without compromising throughput and latency.

     The SM2268XT features a dual-core ARM R8 CPU with four channels for 16Gb/s PCIe data streams supporting four NAND channels up to 3,200 MT/s each, thus enabling designers to take advantage of the higher throughput of next-generation high-speed TLC and QLC 3D NAND flash memory. Its multi-core design automatically balances computing loads to deliver industry-leading 7,400MB/s and 6,500MB/s continuous read/write speeds and 1,200K IOPS random read/write speeds. In addition, its advanced architecture enables lower power consumption and stringent data protection, providing high performance and reliability in a cost-effective DRAM-less PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD solution.

     SM2268XT adopts the new system bus architecture, host memory buffer (HMB) function, and the most advanced 8th generation NANDXtend® ECC technology from HuirongTech. It is equipped with 4KB LDPC ECC and RAID with optimized performance to maximize error correction capability. Designed for next-generation, cost-effective TLC and QLC 3D NAND flash memory, the SM2268XT enables cost-effective SSDS to be used in a wide range of notebook applications from high performance, market mainstream to early stage.
