The Motor Control embedded processing portfolio expands with more than 35 new MCUS

     Renesas Electronics has announced three new motor control MCU groups. The company is introducing more than 35 new products, including devices in the RX and RA families. The new MCUS add to the motor control portfolio, which includes multiple MCU and MPU families, analog and power solutions, sensors, communication devices, signal regulators and more.

     The company is introducing two new MCU groups for its RA family of Arm Cortex-M devices. The RA4T1 group offers 100MHz performance, up to 256KB of flash memory and 40KB of SRAM. The new RA6T3 group offers 200MHz operating frequency, 256KB of flash memory and 40KB of SRAM. Both sets of new products offer impressive features and capabilities for motor control applications, including trigonometric function units (tfu) for acceleration, advanced ADCs with PGA integration, and multiple communication interface options including CAN FD.

     The company's flexible software package supports new parts to easily port designs from other RA series devices. The company also offers the RX family of new RX26T group MCUS operating at 120MHz, with up to 512KB of flash memory and 64KB of SRAM. They support a 5V power supply, providing high noise resistance and control accuracy. They also provide tfu, on-chip timing, and interrupt control. Customers of the popular RX24T MCUS can effortlessly extend their designs to new RX26T products to leverage existing design software while achieving performance and control efficiency improvements.
