Texas Instruments synchronous step-down converter module

Texas Instruments TPSM82903 is an easy to use efficient, small, and flexible synchronous step-down DC/DC converter. Its optional switching frequency of 2.5 MHz or 1.0 MHz allows the use of small components and can provide fast transient response. The device uses the DCS Control topology and supports up to ±1% VOUT accuracy.

The wide input voltage range of 3 V to 17 V supports a variety of nominal inputs, such as 12 V power rails, single or multiple lithium-ion batteries, and 5 V or 3.3V power rails. With PWM (Automatic) /PFM mode selected, the TPSM82903 will automatically enter power saving mode in light load to maintain high efficiency.

With a low typical static current (IQ) of 4 µA, TPSM82903 provides high efficiency on very small loads. When enabled, the Automatic Efficiency Enhancement (AEE) feature provides high efficiency across the entire VIN, VOUT, and load current range. The device includes a MODE/Smart-CONF input to set the internal/external partial frequency, switching frequency, output voltage discharge, and automatic power-saving mode or forced PWM operation. The module comes in a small 11-pin MicroSiP package with dimensions of 3.0 mm x 2.8 mm x 1.6 mm and an integrated 1 μH inductor.
