TI launches Robotic Systems learning kits and courses to help train future systems design engineers

     With the rapid development of science and technology, the world is becoming more and more complex, the demand for efficiency is also increasing, in order to maintain and improve their competitiveness, engineering students must learn and understand the engineering concepts of different disciplines and products. To help these future engineers master the basics of system design, Texas Instruments (TI) has introduced its latest TI Robotic Systems Learning Suite specifically for college education.

     TI-RSLK is a low-cost robotics kit and course teaching aid that helps students gain a deeper understanding of how electronic system design works. The first generation of the series, "Maze Edition," features more than 60 electronic and mechanical components, including the industry-leading SimpleLink™ MSP432P401R microcontroller LaunchPad™ development kit. TI's SimpleLink microcontroller platform offers a broad family of connected ARM® MCUS in a single software development environment, providing flexible hardware, software and tool options for Internet of Things (IoT) and robotics applications.

     Through the TI-RSLK course, students can understand the functions and uses of all hardware and software in the system. Using this basic knowledge, they can independently write and develop code and build fully functional robotic systems. At the end of the course, you can also design a robot that can complete the route tracking and compete with other TI-RSLK robots to challenge the maze.

     Jon Valvano, professor of Electrical and Computer engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, who developed the TI-RSLK in collaboration with TI, said: "Whether used as an introductory course for freshmen or for subsequent advanced design lab courses, TI-RSLK provides students with hands-on experience in systems engineering in electronic, mechanical and computer science." This not only helps to encourage students to pursue an electrical engineering degree, but also gives them the confidence to face up to difficulties in their studies."

     TI-RSLK Maze Edition is designed as a complementary course for university education and contains 20 modules of study from the basic to the advanced level. Each module comes with explanatory videos, slides, lab documents, presentation videos, tests, and class activities. Both the suite and curriculum are customizable, and teachers can choose how to apply TI-RSLK in their own classrooms. TI-RSLK is designed to teach embedded systems and applications and can be extended to any level of engineering courses at the university level.

     PeterBalyta, vice president of Education and Corporate Social Responsibility and president of Global Education Technology at TI, said, "Tomorrow's engineers will only be able to push the boundaries of technology if they first understand where it lies. I am confident that by gaining a deeper understanding of how electronic systems work, they will create amazing technological achievements in their future careers."
