TI introduces the next generation of devices for its SimpleLink ultra-low power platform
TI announced the launch of the next generation of devices for its SimpleLink ultra-low power platform, dedicated to helping users easily add ultra-low power and remote connectivity to their Internet of Things (IoT) designs. The new SimpleLink Sub-1 GHz CC1310 wireless microcontrollers (MCUS) provide up to 20 years of battery life for building and factory automation, alarm and security, smart grid and wireless sensor network applications.
TI simplifies the development of wireless MCUS based on SimpleLink CC1310 by providing software options that meet the needs of developers. Software currently available includes examples of point-to-point communication with EasyLink support, the TI RTOs-based wM-Bus protocol stack, and the Contiki 6LoWPAN mesh networking stack. Developers also have access to development tools, reference designs, online training, and TI's online technical support community to help them further streamline the design process. In addition, TI offers scalable memory with 32kB, 64kB or 128kB flash to meet developers' needs for different code sizes.
To meet the needs of the Chinese market, enhance product connectivity and ease of use, and increase board space, TI has joined hands with Skyworks Solutions, a high-performance analog semiconductor innovation company, to integrate a small and economical front-end module (FEM) into the CC1310 wireless MCU. Together with FEM SKY66115-11, which has a frequency range of 470-510MHz, the CC1310 wireless MCU meets the needs of users for a wide connectivity range, low power consumption and low cost solutions in smart meters and iot applications.
