TE Connectivity introduces the STRADA Whisper DPO Configuration Connector
TE Connectivity, a global leader in connectivity and sensing, announced the introduction of a new STRADA Whisper in-line Orthogonal (DPO) connector that helps engineers design switches, servers, base stations and other types of communications devices by eliminating midboard connections, reducing costs while improving airflow inside the device. The STRADA Whisper DPO connector is a new addition to TE's STRADA Whisper backplane connector family. The innovative STRADA Whisper connector family has been developed for high-performance, high-bandwidth systems with data transfer speeds up to 25 Gbps and scalability up to 56 Gbps (PAM4 and NRZ), allowing engineers to efficiently implement future system upgrades without having to redesign expensive backplanes or midboards.
The construction of TE's new STRADA Whisper DPO connector is designed not only to address typical mechanical issues of DPO systems, but also to reduce costs and improve airflow inside the device by removing the center plate. In addition to the excellent performance and scalability of the STRADA Whisper series, the STRADA Whisper DPO connector is easy to adjust and install, so it ensures electrical performance even if the connectors are not perfectly matched.
Rugged adapters connect existing STRADA Whisper Row Differential Pairs (PiR) sockets to STRADA Whisper row Differential pairs (PiC) sockets without compromising their industry-leading electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk protection. Therefore, compared with similar square directly orthogonal products, its rectangular design can provide better density to obtain higher card density and increase the system bandwidth.
