TDK InvenSense SmartBug Multi-sensor wireless module

TDK InvenSense's SmartBug (MD-42688-P) is a multi-sensor wireless module that utilizes TDK MEMS sensors and algorithms for a wide range of iot applications. This module combines six sensors, a powerful wireless (BLE) MCU, seven algorithm-driven features, and a rechargeable battery all in a small ladybug case. It also offers an add-on board option that includes a Wi-Fi module, an SD card slot, and a TDK ultrasonic sensor.

It is the preferred module for fast and easy access to reliable and smart sensor data. Data from each sensor and algorithm can be accessed out of the box without any programming, welding, or additional modifications. This makes it the perfect catalyst for iot product developers, algorithm developers, and sensor data enthusiasts to better understand real-world application signatures, environmental changes, and multi-sensor/algorithmic behavior.

It includes ICM-42688-P 6-axis IMUs, ICP-10100 pressure sensor, humidity sensor, temperature sensor, magnetic sensor, TDK Optional CH-101 Ultrasonic sensor, creating an all-in-one sensor solution. A unique feature of this module is that it provides smart sensor data via iot sensor algorithms and provides customized tuning parameters. The algorithm includes open/close door detection, 6 - and 9-axis sensor fusion, asset monitoring, HVAC filter monitoring, pedometer, activity classification, gesture and air mouse monitoring.

SmartBug data and output can be easily visualized, streamed, and recorded on a Windows 10 application (also known as SmartBug). The app can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft Store. The application offers great flexibility to retrieve data from BLE, Wi-Fi, or USB, depending on the use case. The SD card logging feature also allows automatic logging of data (up to 32gb) without any Windows 10 applications.
