Solid Sand and VyperCore collaborate to ensure C/ C ++ compliance in the new accelerator chip design
Solid Sand and VyperCore announced that in developing the new accelerator chip, VyperCore selected SuperTest's comprehensive test and verification suite to ensure compliance with C and C ++ language standards. This collaboration will enable vsupercore to have the highest level of quality when creating and modifying compilers and standard libraries.
Uk-based VyperCore is developing a new accelerator chip that can make programs written in modern computer languages such as Python, c#, Java, JavaScript and Go up to five times faster. Acceleration is achieved by replacing software-based memory allocation management with high-performance hardware embedded within the CPU. It occurs without modifying the application source code, while providing strong security against memory-safe network attacks at the gate level.
This combined hardware and software solution requires modifications to the compiler and standard library, which is critical because VyperCore ensures compliance with the C and C ++ language standards and standard library specifications.
In this case, the company turned to Solid Sands and its flagship product, SuperTest. The product is a test and verification suite for C and C ++ compilers and libraries, tracking (ISO) language specifications for over 40 years.
Chris Jackson, lead compiler engineer at VyperCore, recommended the product based on previous positive experiences. He explained: "The test suite was very comprehensive and the level of support was particularly satisfactory. When asked to help with a specific test, Solid Sands' support team not only helped fix the issue, but also tracked down and provided additional help to ensure our use of the suite remained seamless."
A key advantage of SuperTest is that Solid Sands has organized the suite based on the complete C and C ++ language specifications. In this way, it provides unique traceability between the test suite and the language specification, and users have full control over which parts of the compiler they are testing.
