Simplay Labs has launched three new services that provide major video standard compliance testing and verification of products

     Lattice Semiconductor's Simplay Labs, LLC, a leading provider of tools, standards and interoperability testing services for consumer electronics (CE) products and mobile devices, Announced that its lab in Shanghai, China, now offers HDMI Alternate Mode (" Alt Mode ") specification testing on USB Type-C. By the end of the first quarter of 2017, Simplay Labs in Taiwan, China will also offer the same service. In addition, all Simplay Labs LABS offer HDCP 2.2 IIA compliance testing for Miracast interface products.

     Since the release of the HDMI "alternate mode" specification on USB in September 2016, many cable manufacturers have been looking forward to testing services for this specification. Hdmi-enabled output source devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and PCS, will connect directly to HDMI-enabled displays via a single cable using a USB Type-C connector. The service will support compliance testing for specifications and regulations currently applicable to the HDMI 1.4b standard.

     In 2016, Simplay Labs developed a test tool certified by DCP for displays, smartphones and tablets that support the HDCP 2.2 IIA specification. The SL-8810 test tool is used to verify product compliance and its ability to securely transfer high-quality copyrighted content. UHDA's ULTRA HD PREMIUM mark is a certification of products or services that meet or exceed specified levels of performance in resolution, high dynamic range (HDR) and wide chromatographic range. Televisions, Blu-ray players, Blu-ray disc content, and cable/satellite and streaming service providers that receive this certification provide consumers with a richer and more flexible viewing experience.
