STMicroelectronics works with Objenious to accelerate the connection of loT nodes to the oRa network

     STMicroelectronics, a leading global semiconductor supplier across multiple electronic applications and a member of the LoRaAlliance, and Objenious, a founding member of the LoRaAlliance and the first French telecom operator to offer LoRa network services nationwide, announced a technical collaboration. Accelerate the connection of iot (loT) nodes to the LoRa network. The ST Development Kit, certified by the Objenious network, is available today to significantly reduce the development of new LoRa devices and reduce time to market.

     LoRAWAN is a low power wide area Internet of Things (LPWAN) based on LoRa technology, creating a lot of opportunities for iot devices to network. LoRa technology is especially suitable for network nodes with limited power, difficult maintenance, and low bandwidth requirements for data transmission, so the target applications are very wide, including asset tracking and predictive maintenance. Market research institutions predict that by 2020, the number of Internet of Things devices online will reach tens of billions. Objenious opened the first LoRa network in France, with more than 4,200 antennas deployed across the country. With network technology and roaming agreements inherited from BouyguesTelecom Telecom, Objenious now offers its own LoRaLPWAN network, platform and services to domestic and international partners and customers.

     From universal microcontrollers (MCUS), secure microcontrollers and sensors, to emulators, power management, mixed signal and connected communication technologies, ST has all the key technologies needed to develop iot devices. To simplify STM32 embedded design, ST also provides developers with the STM32 Open Development Environment (ODE), which includes development tools and software libraries, free of charge.

     Integrating Objenious network connectivity software on top of the STM32 open development environment makes iot device development easier.
