STMicroelectronics Simplify iot products and integrate advanced security technologies

     STMicroelectronics has released a powerful and easy to use security unit, whose powerful verification function can ensure the authenticity of information data, protect the data security of Internet consumer electronics and Internet of Things (IoT) smart hardware, and prevent genuine products from being counterfeit or highly copied. The new product, STSAFE-A100, is certified to the highest standards in the security industry and has a fully functional supporting ecosystem that integrates it into application design without requiring professional security skills for developers.

     Consumer electronics, home appliances, industrial control equipment, and infrastructure control systems are already or will soon be connected to the Internet of Things. Many of these devices are controlled automatically without human intervention. These applications now require advanced electronic security technology to protect products and prevent hackers from defrauding, copying, stealing device information or misusing the device. St's new product STSAFE-A100 is a complete set of security solutions that extend the company's market-proven electronic security technologies for banking, e-commerce, and identity protection to the Internet of Things. As a security unit that provides authentication services and can work with a Common microcontroller, the new product has an embedded security operating system and has achieved Common Criteria EAL5+, the industry standard for bank-grade security .

     To facilitate customer integration of the new security unit, ST offers a complete ecosystem that includes an on-board Arduino pin expansion board, a microcontroller firmware library and reference designs. These development resources make it easy to connect the STSAFE-A100 to microcontrollers, for example, any STM32 microcontroller.
