STMicroelectronics SDK accelerates the introduction of smart connected lighting and automation products

     STMicroelectronics, the world's leading semiconductor supplier across multiple electronic applications, has released a new Bluetooth software development tool that enables developers to use the latest Bluetooth wireless networking technology to develop smart connected products and drive innovation in the next generation of mobile phone-controlled products.

     The Bluetooth Technology Alliance (SIG) has recently made significant progress in its standardization efforts, with the newly released Bluetooth 5 Bluetooth standard incorporating wireless mesh networking technology that enables a large number of devices to communicate with each other and directly with mobile phones. All smartphones on the market today can connect to devices in Bluetooth mesh networks without having to connect through a central gateway or router. Make it easier to control Internet of Things (IoT) applications such as smart lighting, building automation and environment awareness, industrial monitoring and asset tracking.

     ST's BlueNRG-MESH Software Development Kit (SDK) enables the development of connected devices and the mobile applications needed to control these devices. It is the only three-piece SDK development kit on the market today, including two Android and iOS mobile application development kits. And the embedded development software package required for the application development of intelligent devices such as lamps and sensors. These three packages provide engineers with all the software they need to develop applications using ST's Bluetooth-enabled low-energy chips that support BlueNRG mesh networks.
