ST's chips are used in HTEC wearable heart recorders
STMicroelectronics has a powerful STM32 microcontroller that enables HTEC's wearable electrocardiogram recorder (ECG recorder) to operate continuously for long periods of time and remotely monitor heart health.
Millions of patients of all ages worldwide are affected by different types of heart disease, such as irregular or abnormal heartbeats. With timely and accurate diagnosis, most arrhythmia symptoms can be effectively treated and mortality can be minimized. While a standard Holter dynamic heart rate monitor must be delivered to the doctor the morning after recording to check the patient's heart rate over the past 24 hours, the STM32-based 3-lead ECG recorder can be handled by the patient and records data at any time. As soon as the patient feels sick, the recorder is placed in the chest, and important cardiac data can be continuously recorded and sent to the doctor through HTEC cloud telemedicine solutions for direct examination and diagnosis of the cause of arrhythmia.
The novel electrocardiograph uses a dry electrode, which makes it easier to attach to a patient's skin. The powerful computing power of the high-performance STM32 F4 chip plays a crucial role in interpreting complex electrocardiogram signals from the electrodes and converting them into valuable medical information. In extensive testing based on MIT's ECG database, HTEC's advanced signal-filtering algorithm works very well [1], and the low-power microcontroller's dynamic power adjustment technology allows HTEC developers to optimize application power consumption for up to 7 days without charging.
