ST Power Line communication chipset solutions drive power infrastructure reform

     STMicroelectronics drives the global wave of intelligent power use and management with the introduction of a new modular Powerline Communications (PLC) modem chipset. The new chipset is ready standby manufacturers can flexibly design electricity meters, smart grid node street lights, home controllers, industrial controllers, and this new product is currently used by three smart meter manufacturers in the world

     As a total solution, the new chipset integrates the protocol processing capabilities required for data encapsulation and conversion, can send data, and has the requirements for sending data over the power grid the line drive function enables customers to develop cost-effective power line communication products, which can be either newly designed internal components or the core of the external module of the old equipment, to perfectly meet the requirements of certain regulations.

     In these application scenarios, ST PLC modem chipsets are used as external communication modules to connect existing or new meters or controllers. In addition, flexible programmable features allow multiple different product models to share the same hardware platform and support software on-site updates to further reduce the cost low cost of ownership.
