Rutronik offers high reliability supercapacitors for reliable energy storage
Proprietary environmentally friendly materials and processes combined with a double-layer electric capacitor design make Eaton's XLR-LV supercapacitors extremely reliable. These powerful energy storage devices now offered by Rutronik can be used in different variants of various capacitor solutions. With a capacity of 500F, these modules are maintenance-free at operating temperatures from -40 ° C to +65 ° C and have a service life of up to 20 years.
They are characterized by an extremely low ESR of 1.7mOhm, particularly high surge strength and minimal standby current. They are UL810a certified, RoHS compliant and achieve the highest IP65 protection rating. This makes them excellent for use in advanced applications such as emergency power, pulse power, and hybrid energy systems.
The energy storage unit is housed in an aluminum housing for better mechanical integrity and cooling performance, and has a laser-welded internal structure to ensure its high reliability. In order to achieve 18V/500F in the same case size as similar products, the XLR-LV supercapacitor can now use 3V battery technology.
They can be used as a sole energy store and in combination with batteries to reduce costs and optimize service life and operating time. The capacitor can withstand surge voltages up to 105% of maximum operating voltage, has capacitance tolerances of -5% to +20%, and offers four industry-leading best values with a minimum ESR of 1.7mOhm).
Very low standby current, maximum 8mA, maximum resistance to shock and vibration of SAE J2464 and J2380. Typical applications include automated warehousing, main drive power for AGV vehicles (rechargeable in 20 seconds), H2 fuel cells for power ramp management, and backup power for industrial machinery.
