Renesas Communications Technologies introduces the first integrated LTE three-mode platform for full-featured smartphones
Renesas Electronics and its subsidiary Renesas Mobile Corporation, a provider of advanced wireless modem solutions and platforms, Renesas Communications Technologies announced the MP5232, the first single-chip, high-performance, scalable smartphone platform for the $150- $300 product market. The MP5232 platform is designed to help Oems accelerate the production of LTE/HSPA+ enabled smartphones, tablets and mobile Internet devices, enabling the industry to fully leverage the potential of LTE.
The MP5232 platform sets a new benchmark in the integration and performance of full-featured, high-capacity LTE devices. To date, Renesas Mobile modems have shipped more than 2 billion devices that offer the industry's highest transfer rates and low-power multimode FDD and TDD-LTE 4 capabilities. This platform, combined with the most advanced application processors, provides the best user experience through multi-core computing power and industry-leading graphics, video and imaging performance. The platform also includes advanced RF transceivers, power management and audio solutions. This highly integrated smartphone platform has been thoroughly tested and certified to allow customers to bring a new generation of fully featured LTE/HSPA+ smartphones to market in as little as six to nine months.

Based on Renesas Communications' most advanced application processor technology, the MP5232 platform delivers the best user experience with 1.5GHz dual-core computing power and industry-leading graphics, video and image processing capabilities. The platform supports differentiated features including multi-camera and multi-screen support, 1080p full HD multi-format video encoding/decoding, stereoscopic 3D(S3D) video, and advanced graphics to provide a gaming experience comparable to a handheld console with a new and attractive user interface.
