ROHM's precision current sensing amplifier

ROHM's BD14210G-LA current detection amplifier guarantees long term support for the industrial market. The device works on a single 2.7V to 5.5V power supply. It has a wide common-mode voltage range of -0.2V to +26 V, outputs analog voltage and gains of 20 V/V. The matched gain resistance minimizes the gain error and achieves low bias voltage. Under typical conditions, the input bias current is 1 μA (typical). There is no need to adjust the gain error.

BD14210G-LA contains all the required peripheral components. Current sensing is simplified by connecting a shunt resistor and a bypass capacitor. In addition, the number of components is reduced from 11 to only 3 compared to the traditional configuration (OP-amp + discrete components). The amplifier reduces mounting area by 46% (SSOP6 package).

This current sensing amplifier has a high accuracy current detection of ±1% and can be achieved over the entire temperature range from -40°C to +125°C. The internal circuit prevents current detection accuracy from decreasing, even when an external RC filter circuit noise suppression increases. This minimizes the number of hours of work required for the design. The wide input voltage range makes the BD14210G-LA ideal for current sensing applications running on 12 V/24 V power supplies
