Pickering introduces new PXI multi-channel battery simulation module

     Pickering Interfaces, a global provider of modular signal switches and simulation solutions for electronic test and verification, has released the latest version of the 41/43-752A series of battery simulation modules, the ideal electric vehicle battery pack simulation module product for BMS test applications. As the electric vehicle industry shifts from 400V to 800V architectures, the 41/43-752A-1xx improves voltage isolation to 1000V, which will meet more user needs.

     For electric vehicles, electric aircraft and other types of automotive, aerospace and energy storage applications, the battery simulation module occupies only one PXI or PXIe slot. 41-752A-1xx(PXI) and 43-752A-1xx (PXIe) are 2, 4, or 6-channel battery simulation modules that deliver 7V/300mA per channel. Complete isolation between channels and to ground. Allows the simulation of batteries in stacked structures by series. The 1KV isolation barrier allows the module to be used as a low-power version of the battery pack, replacing the battery pack used for vehicle power.

     Each channel of the module can absorb 300mA to simulate the battery in the charging state, and each channel has an independent power supply and detection pins, so that the simulation card can automatically detect the load terminal voltage and compensate the circuit loss. The module is designed to respond to dynamic loads, minimizing the need for local decoupling capacitors at the load end. The module can also independently read the load voltage (via the probe line) and current for each channel.

     The Battery Simulation series modules can also be combined with other Pickering PXI switches and simulation modules, including high-voltage switches, fault injection, thermocouple simulation and RTD simulation cards, as well as PXI modules from other manufacturers, such as CANbus interfaces, to create a flexible BMS (Battery Management System) test system. The 41/43-752A can also be used as a 6-channel fully isolated power supply with separate probe lines for each channel.

     Pickering offers extensive software support for all of its products, allowing users to design their applications using operating systems and programming languages (C/C++,.NET, Python, LabVIEW/LabWindows, MATLAB, etc.) to seamlessly integrate their systems. Users can choose from all Microsoft supported Windows versions, mainstream Linux versions and other real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tools such as VeriStand, LabVIEW RT and QNX.
