Omron Electronic Components Europe has released the G7EB-E2 high power PCB relay
Omron Electronic Components Europe has released the G7EB-E2 high power PCB relay. The relay is a new, higher capacity variant of the G7EB family with enhanced current carrying and breaking capabilities. It provides a small footprint, cost-effective and highly reliable contactor alternative.
The G7EB-E2 is rated for continuous load current and switching current of 150A, and is suitable for three-phase 400VAC 100kw, three-phase 800VAC 200kW, and 48VDC 7kW. Suitable applications include photovoltaic inverters, electric vehicle chargers and UPS. The relay has the same size and weight as its predecessor, the G7EB-E, providing greater capacity in the same footprint. It has a wide contact gap of 3.6mm and an extremely low contact resistance of 5mOhm.
In addition to being carried, the unit can be disconnected at 150A for up to 100 operations at 480VAC and 30 operations at 800VAC. This makes the device ideal for providing safe and reliable system operation, with an emergency stop function, eliminating the need for other circuit breakers, and facilitating a smaller, lighter product design with higher power capacity. The relay can vary in both coil voltages by 12VDC and 24VDC.
In PV inverter applications, the device can potentially be used to connect and disconnect the main circuit from the utility grid. The contact gap is 3.6mm, which meets the requirements of IEC 62109. For industrial UPS, its 50kVA to 100kVA output can be used to turn on or off the input and output of the AC main circuit, reducing the possibility of failure while improving safety and resilience between the grid and the load. Alternatively, it can be applied to 48VDC battery and power supply systems to securely connect and disconnect DC power.
