Molex power connector
Each industry faces different power connector challenges. A faulty connector will cause an electrical failure. Loose terminals or other possible assembly errors can result in dangerous vehicle brake failure. As data grows everywhere, PCB makers need to use more electronic components in smaller board Spaces; Small size and high power density do not go hand in hand.
Molex's Ultra-Fit power connector addresses these issues, addressing four key design challenges while still delivering the advanced case features of mature Mini-Fit and Micro-Fit 3.0™ connector systems. The shell is differentiated by different colors to reduce the risk of mismatching. Optional TPA fixers greatly reduce the chance of loose terminals. Streamline design, the volume is 17% smaller than the rival power connector, to achieve space saving; Its ultra-low relay also reduces operator fatigue when connecting multiple high-circuit connectors.
Featuress and Advantages
● Multiple mechanical keylock styles and color options
- Multiple connectors are allowed for the same circuit, with little possibility of cross-matching. Different colors provide a visual indication of the proper fitting of the connectors and speed up assembly
● The spacing is 17% smaller than that of similar power connectors
- Current density design saves PCB space. Smaller packages can be achieved without any impact on current carrying capacity
● Optional terminal positioning (TPA) holder
- Ensure that the terminal is completely located in the housing, reducing the chance of terminal loose. The terminal can be kept in place even if the main hold function fails
● Ultra low fitting relay terminal
- For high circuit applications, it can reduce operator fatigue and improve assembly quality
● Reliable locking housing with anti-crochet design
- Ensures that the connector assembly does not detangle accidentally. There was a clicking sound when it was connected. Prevents latches from being damaged by wire hooks
● Fully isolated terminals
- Prevent potential damage to pins and socket terminals during handling and connection
● Terminal interface with six separate contacts (junction box terminal design)
- Provides redundant secondary current paths for long-term performance and reliability
