Microchip's PIC32 family adds the lowest power consumption, highest cost performance and integration of kern-independent peripherals

     Microchip Technology has announced the company's lowest power consumption, most cost-effective 32-bit PIC32 MCU family. The Microchip PIC32MM series fills the gap between the company's popular PIC24F XLP series and PIC32MX series. In addition, the family is the first PIC32 device to integrate kerre-independent peripherals, designed to eliminate CPU workloads and thus reduce power consumption and system design costs. Microchip also provides MicrochipMPLAB Code Configurator (MCC) support for the PIC32MM family of devices to simplify and speed up the design process.

     Embedded applications in the Internet of Things (IoT), consumer, industrial control, and motor control sectors today favor flexible MCU products for lower power consumption, better cost performance, and smaller size. For applications that require low power consumption and longer battery life, the PIC32MM series devices can deliver currents as low as 500 nA in sleep mode. Space-constrained applications benefit from its compact 4x4 mm package. The kernel-independent peripherals integrated by the PIC32MM family of devices include configurable logic units (CLCS) and multiple Output capture/Compare /PWM modules (MCCP), which help enable sensorless BLDC motor control applications.
