Mentor Graphics announced the launch of the 15BG Veloce Strato platform

     Mentor Graphics announced the Veloce Strato hardware-accelerated simulation platform. The Veloce Strato platform is Mentor's third generation data center friendly hardware acceleration simulation platform and the only hardware acceleration simulation platform on the market that is fully scalable in both software and hardware. Mentor also introduced the Veloce StratoM high-capacity hardware-accelerated emulator and the Veloce Strato OS enterprise-class operating system.

     The new Veloce Strato hardware acceleration simulation platform is a strategic milestone in Mentor's hardware acceleration simulation development path for the next five years and beyond. The Veloce Strato platform further demonstrates how Mentor continues to lead the way in all areas of hardware acceleration simulation. The platform has the largest portfolio of usage models (Apps), the best total throughput, the fastest collaborative model bandwidth and visibility speeds, and the highest effective available capacity (up to 15BG) plans.

     Veloce StratoM is now available to major customers with a capacity of up to 2.5BG when fully loaded, with a Veloce Strato link, and the total capacity increases with the number of connected hardware accelerators. The Veloce StratoM comes with 64 Advanced Verification circuit Board (AVB) slots available for up to 50KW (22.7 W/Mgate) when fully loaded. The product also offers a number of other performance improvements: a 5x increase in total throughput (fastest compile-run-time debug process), a 10x increase in visibility time (shortest debug time), a 3x increase in compile time (100% success rate), and a 3x increase in collaborative model bandwidth (the fastest collaborative model solution available today).

     The Veloce Strato OS Enterprise operating system provides a common infrastructure for all Veloce Strato hardware and software applications. Veloce Strato OS is a hardware platform independent operating system, so Veloce applications and protocol solutions can be switched between hardware platforms. These include Veloce applications, such as the popular and recognized Veloce Power application, Veloce DFT applications and protocol solutions, such as Veloce VirtuaLAB virtual peripherals, iSolve™ physical peripherals and soft models. The modular Veloce Strato OS is designed to provide a complete solution for the digital design front end, providing a tightly integrated, cost-effective verification solution for a variety of methods through prototyping and verification.
