Littelfuse introduces a new 80A discrete bi-directional transient suppression diode with a lower off-state voltage

     Littelfuse, Inc., a global leader in circuit protection, introduced the 80A discrete bidirectional transient suppression diode, the latest in the SP11xx family of bidirectional transient suppression diodes (SPA diodes). The SP1103C Series 80A discrete bi-directional transient suppression diode provides circuit designers with a lower off-state voltage for protecting low-voltage power supply buses from electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.

     This diode is constructed with a transient suppression diode using proprietary silicon avalanche manufacturing technology that protects each I/O pin, providing a high level of protection for electronic devices that are highly sensitive to damaging ESD. The diode is powerful and can safely absorb repeated ESD shocks of ±30kV without performance degradation. In addition, each diode can safely dissipate 80A's 8/20μs wave surge current at very low clamping voltages.

     The SP1103C series transient suppression diode arrays are commonly used in automotive electronics, industrial products, consumer electronics, switches/buttons, test equipment/meters, point-of-sale terminals, medical devices, laptops/desktops/servers, and computer peripherals.
