Laird Connectivity has announced the adoption of an expanded development partnership with Silicon Labs

     Laird Connectivity has announced the addition of a new member to its Bluetooth portfolio through an extended development partnership with Silicon Labs. The upcoming Lyra 24 series of flexible BLE modules, USB adapters, and development kits deliver meaningful features and performance enhancements for scalable next-generation BLE development.

     The new family combines all the benefits of Silicon Labs' hardware, software and tools offerings with Laird's value-added application software, certification, service and support capabilities. This seamless partnership continues to provide customers with multiple software development options to suit their resources and skills in ble enabled product development. Based on the Silicon Labs EFR32BG24 SoC, the family delivers the key features of silicon, including the powerful Cortex-M33 with 1,536kB flash memory and 256k RAM, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, Secure Vault High, AI/ML hardware accelerator, and more. High sensing adc and extended industrial temperature rating.

     From a software perspective, the series enables customers to choose from two firmware options for their application development, supporting managed or host-free operation. This includes Laird Connectivity's AT command set, which has been developed from years of extensive BLE experience and is easily portable from the original Lyra implementation. The scalable AT option provides powerful, simple, easy-to-use firmware for any customer, regardless of their BLE expertise or host MCU. In addition, integrated support for Lyra 24 devices, full SDK and stack access for C code development is included in Silicon's Simplicity Studio IDE.

Modular FCC, ISED, EU, UKCA, MIC, KC and Bluetooth SIG certifications are extended to OEM designs without the need for new testing, speeding time to market and reducing development risk.
