Kyocera AVX has released the ultra-low-ESR KGU Series C0G (NP0) RF MLCCs.Inspired by the growing communications market demand for smaller RF capacitors that produce repeatable RF performance, the new KGU Series RF MLCCs pack multiple performance advantages optimised for communications applications into four miniature EIA chip sizes ranging from 01005 to 0805.

     Inspired by the growing communications market demand for small RF capacitors that produce repeatable RF performance, the new KGU Series RF mlcc integrates multiple performance benefits optimized for communications applications into four micro-EIA chip sizes ranging from 01005 to 0805. The series features a Class I C0G (NP0) ceramic dielectric material, which is one of the most stable capacitor dielectric materials, with a TCC of 0±30ppm/C, essentially zero voltage coefficient, and a base metal electrode made of tin-plated/nickel-alloy copper, providing high CV capability in a small-size housing. It also features ultra-low ESR, high power, high Q, high SRF, and tight tolerances - all of which benefit countless communications applications.

     The series RF mlcc is currently available in four micro-EIA chip sizes (01005, 0402, 0603, and 0805) with rated voltages of 16-250V, 0.1-100pF, tolerances as low as ±0.05pF, and operating temperatures from -40 ° C to +125 ° C. Ideal applications for this family include cellular base stations, 802.11 Wi-Fi networks, user-based wireless devices, filter networks in broadband wireless, satellite communications and public safety radio systems, matching networks, high q frequency sources and tuned, coupled, bypass and DC blocking circuits.

     Other features of the new series mlcc include RoHS compliance, thermal shock resistance, long life performance, lack of aging and piezoelectric effects, and tape and reel packaging for automated assembly.
