Kyocera AVX has released the 9289-000 Series waterproof wire-to-wire connectors

     Kyocera AVX has released the 9289-000 series of waterproof wireline to Wire connectors designed to provide economical, space-saving, user-friendly and highly reliable IP67 connections for a variety of industrial, transportation, commercial and consumer electronics applications.

     These new single-piece, three-position waterproof wire-to-wire connectors are the sixth family of home wire-to-wire connectors in the company's portfolio, but the first waterproof connector in the family and the first to feature industry-proven home contact technology.

     Designed to simplify, accelerate and error-proof termination processes, the new series is suitable for a variety of power and signal applications that require waterproof connections, enabling simple, toolless peel and poke in home wire inserts and twist out wires for solid and twisted wires, resulting in fast, easy, accurate and economical field connections with IP67 protection.

     The series features a transparent polycarbonate insulator that allows installers to visually confirm wire positioning and ensure proper insertion, a single piece phosphor bronze contact with tinned nickel plating and a high-strength contact beam that provides superior mechanical stability and wire holding of maximum strength, as well as an integrated wire stop that stops when inserted. It also saves space and costs compared to two-piece wire-to-wire connectors that require contact crimping and sectional assembly.

     The series of waterproof wire-to-wire connectors are rated for voltages up to 10A, up to 1,000VACRMS or DC equivalent, and operate at temperatures from -40 ° C to +80 ° C for IP67 connections with 16AWG wires with outer diameters of 2-2.2mm or 3-3.2mm. They are also ul certified and rohs compliant for applications such as factory automation equipment, outdoor recreational vehicles, traffic lighting, garden lighting, other outdoor power and lighting applications, home appliances and drones. Parts are packaged in batches of 200 pieces per bag, and other variants of contact count and wire size are available upon request.
