KEMET's polypropylene metallized cylindrical film capacitors are designed for safety applications in motor operation

YAGEO KEMET's C28, C87 and C27 polypropylene metallized cylindrical film capacitors are designed for motor starting applications. They use FASTON, plastic decks or cable terminals, and overpressure safety devices.

Each series is designed for the S3, S2 or S0 security level. Ac motor running capacitors are used to eliminate the induction effect of the AC motor and store charge while the motor is rotating. This in turn gives the system a better power rating, utilizing more energy provided.

By using AC motors to run capacitors, engineers can achieve greater power factor corrections when designing AC motor systems. Typically, these capacitors are in parallel with the AC motor, which starts the capacitors in series
