KEMET introduces the KPS-MCC C0G High temperature 200°C large capacitor solution
KEMET, the world's leading supplier of electronic components, has announced the launch of its KPS MCC C0G high temperature 200°C large capacitor solution for harsh environment applications. Developed by combining Kimi Electronics' patented stable C0G/NPO base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system with durable lead | wire frame technology, these capacitors are ideally suited for high temperature, high pressure and high vibration applications such as downhole oil exploration, automotive and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), defense and aerospace.
The C0G BME dielectric system is designed to provide high reliability at operating temperatures up to 200°C while maintaining high insulation resistance, extremely low ESR and extremely high ripple current capability at high frequencies. In addition, the series has excellent stability, with no capacitance change at DC voltage and only +30ppm/°C capacitance change with temperature.
The High melting point (HMP) solder with the lead connection enables multiple chips to be stacked in parallel, providing large capacitance and excellent mechanical strength. Kimi's BMECOG dielectrics offer superior electrical performance, reliability and mechanical strength to Class (X7R/X5R) capacitors for applications above 175°C

The KPS-MCC series is available in three form factor sizes, providing voltages up to 2,000 V and capacitors up to 2μF in packages smaller than 0, 55 square inches. Each form factor can be arranged into a straight pin, "L" or "J" shape and the terminals are coated with silver (Ag) or solder (SnPb).
