Intel unveils Climate Change Action Plan

     Intel's Climate Transformation Action Plan details Intel's path to reducing its carbon footprint. Accompanying the announcement was a letter from Intel CEO Pat Kissinger detailing the report and outlining Intel's commitment to advancing sustainable business practices.

     The world is expanding rapidly, and computing power has become the foundation for more opportunities and a better future for everyone on the planet, with the ability to make industries more sustainable and offer new solutions to climate change. We are all harnessing the magical power of silicon to drive our economies, and these tiny chips are crucial to sustaining and empowering our modern lives. As we continue to discuss the exponential growth brought about by Moore's Law, it is also important to recognize the importance of sustainability.

     At Intel, we're committed to delivering the chips that drive the world forward while minimizing our environmental footprint. In 2022, I am proud to announce Intel's goal to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions from its global operations by 2040. This year, we took that goal one step further and committed to achieving net zero upstream greenhouse gas emissions across our value chain by 2050.

     Intel's Climate Transformation Action Plan shows a roadmap to achieving these critical goals and further demonstrates Intel's commitment to embedding sustainability across all aspects of its business, staying resilient in its operations and value chain, and continuing to foster innovation. Our research team is looking to the next decade and beyond, and is already using more environmentally friendly chemicals, improving equipment design and facility systems, and offering more energy efficient products.

     Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is one of the most complex challenges facing the industry.
