Infineon introduces the new PSoC Edge product family to bring high-performance, energy-efficient machine learning technology to edge applications

Infineon Technologies AG has announced the launch of a new PSoC microcontroller (MCU) product family, the PSoC Edge. The PSoC portfolio is Infineon's high-performance, low-power security device based on the Arm® Cortex® core. PSoC Edge is designed for a new generation of real-time responsive computing and control applications and offers hardware-assisted machine learning (ML) acceleration. The new MCU product family provides a higher level of end-user experience by lowering the design threshold for human-computer interaction and adding context-aware capabilities to end applications to make end products more intelligent and intuitive to use. At the same time, they provide strong privacy and security protection through the built-in Infineon Edge Protect embedded technology.

The PSoC Edge MCU is powered by a high-performance Arm Cortex-M55 core that includes the Helium™ DSP enhanced instruction set, Arm Ethos-U55, Cortex-M33, and Infineon's ultra-low power NNLite, a proprietary hardware accelerator.
