Infineon Technologies has introduced OPTIGA Authenticate NBT, a high-performance NFC I2C bridging tag for single point authentication and security configuration of iot devices. It is the only asymmetric cryptographic label on the market to be certified as a Type 4 label by the NFC Forum for signature and verification operations. The solution enables ultra-fast and seamless data exchange, even in the case of large data volumes.

The solution enables ultra-fast and seamless data exchange, even in the case of large data volumes.

     It allows contactless NFC communication between iot devices and contactless readers such as smartphones. It can be used for a variety of applications, such as the safe configuration of electronic devices without displays, activation of shared moving vehicles, passive commissioning of smart bulbs without power before installation, and data logging of patient health monitors.

     The device provides superior security through the company's Integrity Guard 32 security architecture and EAL6+ certification of hardware and cryptographic libraries. The tag supports symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic authentication, as well as pass-through and asynchronous data transfer modes.

     Using TEGRION hardware, the device provides contactless interface speeds up to 848Kbit/s and supports I2C interfaces up to 1Mbits/s for optimal performance values, which are particularly important for demanding applications. The NFC I2C bridge tag provides 8KB of memory to store customer and application-specific configuration information. In addition, high on-chip capacitors enable smaller antenna designs, optimizing BOM costs and space requirements.
