Infineon has announced the XENSIV Sleep Quality Service, a fully integrated software and hardware solution for original equipment manufacturers

     Infineon Technologies AG has announced the launch of a privacy-focused contactless sleep quality solution. The solution can be easily integrated into original equipment manufacturer (OEM) end devices such as bedside lamps, televisions, smart speakers and air purifiers. Using Infineon's millimeter-wave radar, PSoC™ and Wi-Fi technology, XENSIV™ Sleep Quality services are designed to monitor and help optimize a user's sleep quality based on individual needs. Oems can now bring sleep-improving end devices to market in a third of the time previously and focus on developing features that enhance users' quality of life through their ecosystem.

     Scientific studies have proven that a lack of healthy sleep can lead to serious health risks, such as depression and heart disease. Studies have shown that fatigue from sleep deprivation costs the U.S. economy up to $411 billion a year, and that drowsy driving may be an underlying factor in up to 16.5% of fatal traffic crashes. Improving sleep quality and monitoring sleep performance is one of the best ways to improve health, reduce the risk of tired driving, and improve learning ability.

     Infineon's XENSIV Sleep quality service automatically recognizes and ADAPTS to a person's natural sleep rhythm to help improve sleep quality and provide the information needed for intelligent management such as adaptive lighting, heating, cooling and air quality monitoring. Its main functions include: 1) sleep monitoring, such as distinguishing between sleeping and waking states, total sleep time, sleep efficiency, falling asleep time and wake times; 2) Recognition of sleep stages, such as REM or non-REM periods; 3) Respiratory factors, including abnormal changes in respiratory intensity.

     As part of Infineon's broader Sensors-as-a-Service (SEaaS) approach, the XENSIV Sleep Quality service is designed to accelerate time to market for Oems and provide a fully managed end-to-end solution that includes sensing, computing and connectivity hardware, associated firmware, and cloud-based services. To process and analyze data from millions of users around the world.

     Oems can quickly adopt XENSIV Sleep quality services by integrating the hardware components they need into their end devices and integrating the XENSIV Sleep Quality Services cloud solution into their network infrastructure and mobile applications. Oems can deliver end products directly to end users and retain full ownership of customer relationships and data. The end user can log in easily and quickly, and then view all information related to sleep behavior through the OEM.
