Honeywell's CSHV family of non-invasive sensors provides electrical isolation from the monitored circuit

Honeywell's CSHV series are open-loop current sensors that use the Hall effect and Honeywell proprietary technology to bring the perfect combination of performance and reliability to current detection applications. These products are non-invasive and electrically isolated from the circuit being monitored, ensuring easy detection. Their primary current rating ranges from ±100 ADC to ±1500 ADC.

Current sensors are used in a variety of EV applications, such as current detection in battery management systems (BMS), battery disconnect units (BDUs), distribution units (PDUs), fault detection and isolation. Accurate current detection enables accurate measurement of battery status and improves user experience. Honeywell's CSHV family of current sensors have fast response times for failure detection and asset protection before a catastrophic failure occurs. BMS can use analog voltage output.

The CSHV series uses components that conform to the AEC-Q100 standard for higher quality and higher reliability. For motor control applications, current measurement is proportional to motor torque. Current measurement can also be used to determine the speed of motor rotation. Such velocity information can be calculated by understanding how the control algorithm affects the current level.

The CSHV series is CE and UKCA certified and can be customized to best meet the needs of specific applications, thereby reducing time to market, reducing total system cost and improving reliability.
