Highly integrated 36v, 8 a DC/DC solution

Texas Instruments' TPSM63610 is a highly integrated 36v, 8 a DC/DC solution that combines power MosFETs, shielded inductors and passivity in an enhanced HotRod QFN package. The module features VIN and VOUT pins located in the corners of the package to optimize the placement of input and output capacitors. Four larger heat pads below the module make the layout simple and easy to manufacture.

With an output voltage range of 1 V to 20 V, the TPSM63610 allows for quick and easy implementation of low emi designs within a small PCB footprint. The overall solution requires only four external components and eliminates the selection of magnetic and compensating parts during the design process.

The TPSM63610 is designed for simplicity in applications with small size and limited space, as well as strong performance including precise hysteresis enablement for adjustable input voltage UVLO, resistance programmable switching node conversion rates and spread spectrum, and spread spectrum options for improving EMI.

Integrated VCC, bootstrap, and input capacitors provide increased reliability and higher density. The module can be configured with a constant switching frequency in the full load current range (FPWM) or a frequency conversion (PFM) for higher light load efficiency. The TPSM63610 includes a PGOOD indicator for sorting, failure protection and output voltage monitoring.
