Excel|mate Megawatt Charging System (MCS) plug assembly and matching air intakes

     TTI IP&E-Europe now supplies Excel|mate Megawatt Charging System (MCS) plug assemblies and matching air intakes from Amferro Industries to support ultra-fast charging of commercial and off-road electric vehicles. The new rated combined plug has an output power of up to 2.25MW, in accordance with IEC TS 63379 and IEC 61851-23-3 standards.

     Excel|mate Charge Coupler (CC) plug combination is an extension of the company's High voltage coupler socket (HVCO) series, available in 350A (HVCO4MN001LXXXX) and 1500A (HVCO4M1001LXXXX) models, operating voltage up to 1500V. These combined plugs support megawatt-level DC charging and offer an ambient temperature range of -40 ° C to +55 ° C, with current derating when operating temperatures exceed +100 ° C.

     Using Amphenol's Radsok technology, the high-current contacts within the plug have been tested to maintain a low contact resistance of over 20,000 match cycles, rated IP44, allowing the oem to offer an extended charge cycle guarantee. The liquid cooling system comprises a feed pipe and two outlet pipes operating at a coolant pressure between 0 bar and 7 bar. The device has an import current rating of 1000A and uses naturally cooled copper rods, and Amphenol is developing a liquid-cooled version to increase the current rating to 3000A.
