Diodes launched space-saving TVS

     Diodes announced new two-way transient Voltage suppressors (TVS) diodes to meet the market demand for proper protection of high speed data ports. D3V3Z1BD2CSP to meet the protection of electrostatic discharge (ESD) shock and spike events. The main applications of this product are high performance computing hardware, I/O ports for smartphones, laptops and tablets, monitors and game consoles.

     While many competing products must compromise on design, choosing between strong surge protection features or low input capacitance, D3V3Z1BD2CSP can offer both benefits at the same time. Its extremely low capacitance value (typical 0.3pF) does not interfere or impede high-speed data communication, ensuring that signal integrity is maintained.

     Its peak pulse current (typical 10.5A) and low clamp voltage (5.3V) protect the I/O ports and their sensitive electronic components from transient voltages. Therefore, the risk of electrical overstress damage caused by frequent hot insertion and other activities is avoided. D3V3Z1BD2CSP complies with IEC61000-4-2 immunity standard and provides strong ESD protection against ±20kV air and contact discharges to improve system reliability.

     D3V3Z1BD2CSP can be used to protect I/O interfaces such as USB Type-C®, DisplayPort™, HDMI™, and SD cards carrying high-speed data transfer rates up to 20Gbps. The operating temperature range of -55˚C to +150˚C ensures continuous protection in challenging product applications. Diodes' D3V3Z1BD2CSP TVS come in extremely delicate DSN0603 wafer size packages of just 0.6mm x 0.3mm x 0.3mm.
