Compact and innovative solutions for the next generation of AI personal computers
Renesas Electronics has partnered with Intel to develop a power management solution that delivers best-in-class battery efficiency for laptops based on Intel's new Core Ultra 200V series. Renesas worked closely with Intel to develop an innovative new custom PMIC that covers the entire power management needs of the latest generation of Intel processors. This advanced and highly integrated PMIC, combined with a pre-regulator and battery charger, provides a complete PC solution powered by a new Intel processor. The three new devices work together to provide dedicated power solutions for client laptops, especially those running AI applications that consume a lot of power.
The new devices include the RAA225019 PMIC, RAA489301 high efficiency preregulator and ISL9241 battery charger. Their feature set is optimized for low-power mobile computing applications. Renesas solutions are backed by proven reference designs and robust application support.
The RAA225019 PMIC is highly configurable for lunar lake applications and features a fully integrated power mosfet and current sensing circuit. It supports high switching frequencies, making it ideal for small size applications without compromising efficiency.
The RAA489301 preregulator is a three-level buck converter designed to provide an optimized voltage range for the RAA225019 PMIC. Compared to traditional dual-level buck designs, its innovative architecture enhances thermal performance and supports a wide input and output voltage range. This allows for superior efficiency in compact, high power density applications, making it ideal for demanding power solutions.
