Bourns offers the next generation of gas discharge tubes - GDT35 series

The GDT35 series extends the legacy of quality, innovation and design of the Bourns gas discharge tube (GDT) overvoltage surge discharger and sets the standard for speed and robustness. Similar to the previously released dual-electrode models, the GDT25 series, the GDT35 series offers significant improvements in protection against voltage transients caused by lightning strikes or accidental contact with AC wires. With improved computer modeling simulations, the GDT35 next generation series provides better surge current handling capabilities and enhanced voltage limiting levels during rapid boost events to reduce stress on downstream components.

For this three-electrode version, Bourns' unique coplanar fit allows the components to switch in either direction until a three-point contact is established. Low capacitance and low plug loss make the GDT35 series an ideal solution for protecting industrial communications as well as high-speed information and communication technology (ICT) equipment.

Bourns' GDT35 Design Kit (DK-GDT35-01) contains five of each of the eight most popular GDT35 voltage models, providing design engineers with a variety of protection solutions for rapid prototyping testing.
