Bourns' latest indoor multi-function unpowered system provides a small and highly reliable power backup solution

     Bourns has introduced three new Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPSs), which are small and versatile optimal DC power and battery backup solutions for fiber optic network terminals (ONT) powered by 12 volts DC, as well as 12 volts DC applications requiring DC power and battery backup. Small size adds flexibility to the layout and is designed for high reliability, with Bourns' new UPS offering three alarm functions, ONT reset and cold start, overvoltage protection and EMI/RFI filtering. These UPS units use lithium-ion battery technology and an integrated battery management system to help ensure long life and safe operation.

     The unique thin design of the Bourns MX1236 series indoor MicroFlex UPS allows DC power and lithium-ion battery packs to be stacked and can accept up to three battery packs for increased backup capacity. In addition, the MX1236 series of UPS is capable of accepting 50/60 Hz AC power input from 100 to 240 Vac, which provides 12 V / 3.0 A(36 watts) rated DC output, and a replaceable lithium-ion battery provides up to 10 hours of 8 watts of backup power in the event of a power outage. The Bourns MX1236 series is UL certified to support the lightweight size and flexibility required for today's ONTs, Fiber Optic Network units (ONUs), fiber to the Home (FTTH), security systems, and other applications. Ordering options include models MX1236-L2-C7 and MX1236-P-C7, both of which include a power supply, UPS battery, and relay for Vdc and telemetry outputs; The Bourns® MX36-LC is a replacement battery.

     The Bourns MP1218-L1 series of indoor small UPS provides constant DC power supply and additional battery backup power in case of power outages. It can accept 50/60 Hz AC power input from 100 to 240 Vac; The DC power supply provides A nominal DC output of 12 V / 1.5 A(18 W). The replaceable battery pack provides 8 watts of backup power for up to 6 hours. Output cable options include 7-core 12-volt DC power supply and telemetry, as well as 2-conductor bushing connectors for DC power only. In addition, the UL-certified MP1218-L1 series provides the small size and flexibility required for today's GPON devices, and Model MP18-L1 replacement batteries are also available.

     Bourns' new product, the MP1218-P Series of indoor micro power supplies, is UL certified and designed for 12 volt DC fiber network terminals, but can also be used in 12 volt DC applications that require DC power, such as VoIP, FTTH and video. Models with seven-core direct current voltage (Vdc) and telemetry are also available.
