Avnet introduces the new ZynqZynq-7000 fully programmable SOC/ADI Smart Driver suite

Avnet Electronic Components, Avnet's working group, has released the new Zynq-7000 all programmable SOC/ADI's Smart Drive Kit II. The suite is designed to provide a flexible platform for motor control and industrial network development in industries including industrial automation, smart energy, medical and embedded systems.

     Avnet Electronics has released the new Zynq-7000 all programmable SOC/ADI's Smart Drive Kit II. The suite is designed to provide a flexible platform for motor control and industrial network development in industries including industrial automation, smart energy, medical and embedded systems. This evolution of the original ZYNQ-7000 programmable SOC/ADI's Smart Drive suite offers enhanced performance features, including ADI's more accurate data converters, higher frequency direct drive for H-bridge power stages and simultaneous drive by two electric motors, including bipolar stepper motors or DC brushless electronic brakes.

     Based on the Avnet ZedBoard, the new ZYNQ Smart Drive Kit II combines the latest generation of Analog Devices high-precision data converters and digital isolation with all of the programmable SoKs of the Xilinx ZYNQ-7000 and 28nm programmable logic of the ARM® dual-core Cortex™-A9 +. Enables high performance motor control and industrial network connectivity. Also included is the Xilinx ZYNQ-7000 reference design, which features Analog Devices' Linux architecture and provides an ideal infrastructure for quickly adding custom control algorithms. In C/HDL code generation using a combination of embedded Coder® and HDL encoder ™ from MathWorks, Simulink supports model-based design for all XilinxZynq-7000 programmable system chips.

"Combining Xylinx Vivado's IP-based and ADI provided Linux infrastructure, the ZIDK-II platform allows engineers to explore smart drives in SoC power consumption for creating fast control loops and precision analog measurements, with the option to add industrial network interfaces like Powerlink and EtherCAT." "The suite enables system-level design processes and allows rapid exploration of tradeoffs between software and hardware implementation architectures for highly sophisticated motor control applications."

     "The inclusion of ADI's AD-FMCMOTCON2-EBZ drive system in the Smart Drive suite ensures that engineers have a flexible prototype platform suitable for a variety of motor control architectures. Allowing control of up to two motors, the kit allows for system-level prototyping of a complete dynamometer, as well as multi-axis system control. Having fully isolated analog and digital interfaces ensures reliable system operation and reliable functional and security isolation. High-frequency power stages combined with precision analog signal chains provide highly dynamic response systems, making this an ideal platform for implementing high-performance control algorithms, "said Andre Cozma, Systems engineering Manager, Analog Devices.
