Analog Devices introduces digital power controllers
Analog Devices, Inc. recently introduced the ADP1046, a digital power controller for high-efficiency AC-DC and isolated DC-DC power systems. The ADP1046 is a flexible controller with 7 PWM (pulse width modulation) logic outputs that can be easily programmed via an I2C interface and an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI). The device can be used to control and drive most power supply topologies, including resonant modes for high efficiency.
The ADP1046 is pin-compatible with Analog Devices' award-winning ADP1043A, but offers advanced features and increased flexibility, including voltage feedforward for fast line transient responses. Dedicated control loop configurations to improve loop response and reduce output noise; And adaptive dead zone control that increases efficiency across the load range. The ADP1046 is designed for high efficiency AC-DC power supplies (for server, storage, and networking applications) and isolated DC-DC power supplies (including intermediate bus and radio power amplifier applications).More information about the ADP1046 digital Power controller
The ADP1046 power controller can be easily programmed through an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), so customers can design and optimize robust systems without the complex code programming required for DSP-based alternatives. The I2C interface allows key parameter data to be read back, providing rich programmable capabilities for operations and troubleshooting. Based on Analog Devices' precision, high-speed ADC technology, the ADP1046 is suitable for parallel and redundant power operations, providing analog and digital current-sharing capabilities and controlling external OR-FETs for redundant power applications.
