Ams offers an interoperable design kit for a special analog process of 0.35µm
Ams AG, the world's leading provider of high-performance sensor and analog IC solutions, announced the launch of the first interoperable Design Kit (iPDK) for 0.35µm special analog processes. The interoperable design suite is based on the OpenAccess database and enables interoperability between multiple EDA tools through the use of a standard language and a unified architecture.
The new iPDK v4.10 effectively accelerates the time to market for highly competitive products in the mixed-signal sector. A comprehensive design environment with accurate simulation models and parametric device layout design (PyCells) based on the Python programming language provide a proven approach to chip design.
The new iPDK v4.10 from AMS supports high-performance 0.35µm process technologies, including C35(CMOS), S35(SiGe-BiCMOS) and H35(high-voltage CMOS). Ams IPDKs include a complete library of silicon-proven digital, analog, and RF devices, a full range of low-voltage devices (3.3V and 5.0V), and high-voltage devices in a variety of gate oxide thicknesses (10V, 20V, 50V, and 120V). The dimensional optimized high density digital library is suitable for 3.3V and 5V voltages, and a range of digital and analog IO libraries are available for all 0.35µm process processes. iPDK offers simulation models for a variety of simulators, Calibre, Assura design validation, and automatic device layout Generator (PyCells). As a result, product developers have access to plug-and-play tools to implement one-shot designs with EDA tools of their choice.
Markus Wuchse, general manager of AMS Foundry Business, said: "Foundry customers who are developing complex simulators and mixed-signal products will benefit from two things. First, the new iPDK is based on a design suite developed by AMS in line with industry standards, providing a complete design environment and a proven design process. Second, iPDK enables interoperability of various EDA tools. By enabling a more flexible choice of EDA tools, we can expand our portfolio of foundry services and technologies, enabling our customers to design immediately and focus on their core capability of chip design."
The new iPDK is based on AMS 'industry-leading development kit hitkit and can be used for C35, H35 and S35 special process processes. The iPDK has been verified by Keysight EEsof EDA Advanced Design System (ADS) 2016.01 and Synopsy's Galaxy Custom Designer2014.12.
